The Real Results after using Veet Gel Cream Hair Remover! Get outfit deets on tomorrow's post! |
With the summer temps reaching well over 90 degrees here in NC, it's officially the season of smoothness! I have to admit I'm a smooth-aholic. So when Veet asked me to review their Gel Cream Hair Remover and share some of my favorite ways to beat the summer heat, I jumped at the chance. Before we get into my experience with Veet, let's discuss some of my favorite tips and tricks for summer survival:

Here's my top 4 Summer Hacks:
I think I need to work on my timing a little bit, the 2nd leg had a few stragglers compared to the 1st one. But overall, I was happy with the results *Pro Tip: Use the smaller edge for harder to reach places like your ankles and knees* An additional bonus? I didn't have to waste all that water I usually would when shaving in the shower! Saving the earth, one hair removal at a time!

Here's my top 4 Summer Hacks:
Hydrate!
I feel like Coke and Summertime just go hand-and-hand. During the sweltering days I could down can after cold can. But we all know that's not great for the bikini bod. Enter my solution: Fruit Water. I fill a larger glass (in this case a mason jar) with ice water and whatever fruit I'm craving. Usually it's raspberries or slices of lemon and lime. It gives the water a ton of flavor and makes downing glass after glass a breeze.
Moisturizing Sun Care
I try not to leave the house without SPF - even in the winter! Although you may not be spending your Monday through Friday laying out, your skin still needs to be protected. My everyday body lotion and facial moisturizer both have SPF that not only fights UV rays but also keeps my skin moisturized.
Cute Sunglasses
My sunglasses collection is growing by the season. Why? It's one of my favorite ways to accessorize an outfit. But in addition to looking good, your sunnies need to have UV protection. Not only for those sensitive areas around your eyes but also for your eyes themselves! How fab are these floral ones!?
Hair Removal
I think we feel our best during the summer when our skin is smooth and hair free, right? Let's face it, hair removal can sometimes be a chore. I personally dread the shaving of the legs. So I was pretty skeptical of testing out the new Veet Fast Acting Gel Cream and it actually working. But after reading the directions I realized how easy this was going to be.
After slathering on the cream, I sat on the edge of my bathtub for about 8-10 minutes (I have dark coarse hair) and read a book while I waited for the magic to happen. I'll be honest I didn't love the smell but it wasn't as bad as I was expecting it to be.
After 10 minutes, I used the handy dandy tool to remove the cream and was actually surprised to find... smooth legs!

Good Question Amy! I'm going on the 3rd day and it's still pretty smooth.. I say the smooth results last a bit longer than shaving but hair probably starts to grow back around the 5th day? I'll keep you posted!
