I am just now recovering from my 3-day MDW. Sometimes all you need is 3 days of listening to the ocean waves with your toes in the sand. Am I right?

Here's my running wish list of items I am craving for summer. I've spotted this neon dress on several of my blogging buddies and just HAVE to have it. It's SO me, right?! Also I have to admit, I'm lover of a few choice words (we'll just leave it at that) I spotted this Gorjana ring while searching for midi rings. I LOVE it! Also I've already professed my love for these belt bags.. they're officially on my must-have list.

 TGIF Friends! I am SO excited that it's not only the weekend but that it's also a 3-Day one!! Just the thought of an extra day at the beach is helping me get through the rest of today. Do you guys have any fab Memorial Weekend plans? I hope it involves a bathing suit, a cool beverage and lots of R&R cause that's what I plan to do! 

 

P.S. is anyone else into the Black & Brown combo as much as I am right now? Remember when it used to be such a no-no (kind of like red & pink?) I personally love the pairing - especially when you throw in some leopard print a.k.a. the best neutral ever! Do you have any secret loves for weird color combos?

New Obsession: Erin Dana Belt Bag

Ever since I caught a glimpse of Erin Dana's belt bag I've been having mah-jor lusting after thoughts. We're talking actual dreams about a fanny pack (which is totally not weird by the way) I've been on the hunt for a vintage option for a while now, but I think I might have to take the plunge and nab this baby in champagne. I mean hands free = more time to instagram people! It's just too good to pass up. And with a bachelorette trip to New Orleans coming up, a night (or 2 or 3) of double fisting is definitely on the horizon which means I need be as hands free as possible...

Although jeans and a tee is one of my favorite and go-to wardrobe choices, sometimes they just need a little something extra. I stepped up my casual game with my favorite GiGi clutch in a bright, bold lime green color along with this fabulous statement necklace from Prima Donna Jewelry. It elevates the whole look just a tad, don't you think?

 

I'm so happy I scored this color for spring. It's been going with everything in my closet from dresses to pants to more casual evenings. I'm also in love with their summer colors like indigo and salmon. So cheerful!

 

Another day of no internet or television. Things have been pretty quiet at my house... I guess it's a nice change but I was just getting into a Scandal marathon on Netflix.. now I feel like I'm going through withdrawls. I need some Olivia Pope!! This sequin clutch from DaisyGem gets so much air-time from my wardrobe it isn't even funny! I wear it out with fancy looks (à la here and here) and with more casual ones like this date night outfit. It originally just came in gold but they recently added pink AND black too! I just might have to add pink to my collection as well.. After all, it does combine my two favorite things in the world, pink & sparkles! I wish this Zara blouse was still available online.. I finally found my perfect white shirt and I can't even share it with you guys.. boo!!!

 

We're almost fully moved into our house and spent our first night there last night. It feels so weird to say "I own a home" I feel like such a grown up! Though we won't have TV or Internet for several days... I told Bill I don't know what the heck I'm going to do without either. Now I don't sound like such a grown up.. sad but true!! With the weather being so on and off, this breezy top has been another of my go-to pieces since it works with both jeans and shorts. This was during a cooler day, but lately it's been mostly cutoffs. One of my go-tricks when I'm having a crazy hair day is to wrap my hair in a silk scarf. Especially in the summertime when it gets too hot to wear a hat (like here). I personally think that turban headwear is totally underrated. What do you think?

Met Gala 2014 Favorites

I'm sorry but this for me was just perfection. The hair. The minimal makeup. The crop top. The slit. Emma Stone looked absolutely flawless at last night's Met Gala wearing a light pink crop top & hot pink gown skirt, both by Thakoon. I LOVE her fresh face, her braid and the fact that she didn't have to have an all out "princess" moment in order to look glamorous. I'd wear this look in less than 0.5 seconds. #obsessed!!

What do you get when you put Blake Lively, Old Hollywood Glamour and a rocking body together? The above. Her glittering Gucci Première gown pairs perfectly with retro waves and a pink link (Nars Lip Pencil in "Salsa" to be exact) I mean does this look even need any explanation? We've been having quite the heat wave here in NC and this was the outfit I wore on the day we closed on our home when it was close to 80 outside. This Judith March top is from their Spring/Summer collection & I've had it since March. I think it's one of those super amazing versatile pieces that works from season to season. I wore it on a colder day here and then last week with shorts! I love the crochet trim and the color which makes it the perfect item to pair with almost anything. And the good news is it's now available! Also I know you guys have seen this GiGi bag all over my instagram (here & here) and going crazy for it. It's my new favorite piece and I seriously hardly leave home without it. I want it in every color!!
