Guest Blogger: Pregnancy Fashion

While I am in NYC, I've asked a few lovely ladies to keep BAD going by guest posting. I'm excited to share their sites with you and hope you love them as much as I do. :) First up is Whitney from Witty Whits Words. I've guest posted for her several times (here & here) so I was really happy she could return the favor! Whit is a dear, dear friend who just had a gorgeous baby girl {and just as in last Thursday!!!} and also released her 1st book 25 before 25. (the amount of her energy is astounding)So here she is sharing some great pregnancy fashion tips for all you expectant or soon-to-be expectant moms! Let's see what she has to say.....

Greetings BAD readers! I am thrilled to be guest posting for Nikki while she spends a fashion-filled week in the Big Apple learning all sorts of new trends & treats to share with us!

While I am no fashion expert, I have learned a thing or two about dressing fashionably while being
pregnant! Gone are the days of mu-mu maternity dresses being the choice of only attire suitable for
those expecting. Thank heavens, especially since I sort of flat out refused to buy maternity clothes
throughout my 10 months of pregnancy bliss.

I have always worn form-fitting clothes that flatter my figure because they make me feel best about my body. But just because I would naturally be gaining weight to result in a healthy & happy baby, didn’t mean that I wanted to lose sight of my inner fashionista.

Lucky for me, maxi dresses were trending for summertime and come in all the fun colors and patterns
a girl needs. The Webster Miami at Target line came in extra handy where I literally cleaned out the
section. What can I say? When I like something, I really like it!

I was able to get a few dresses and some flattering accessories to mix & match giving myself more
options to wear during the spring and into the summer.

Building off the mint craze and floral print rage, I also picked up some edgy pieces for those special
occasions. Paired with fun wedges or dressy flats, I still felt feminine while carrying the extra pounds.

J. Crew (anchor dress & mint tank)
Armani Exchange (floral romper)
Nine West (platform wedges)

Lastly, anyone who has been pregnant knows that there comes a time when you start to feel
uncomfortable and less form-fitting clothes become more appealing. I loved sporting my workout shorts and these comfy tees for running errands around town. The shirts are a little longer so I was able to buy them in my usual size and still have the extra length to cover my ever-growing bump. The fun colors helped quench my neon thirst while maintaining comfort.

And for a few snap photos of belly & me sporting my fashion finds, click here and here.

I hope this post has inspired any preggos (or soon-to-be preggos) to maintain their style throughout
your pregnancy. There is nothing more beautiful than a glowing, pregnant woman dressed her best!

Please be sure to stop by Witty Whit’s Words to see my precious bundle of joy and my post-pregnancy fall fashion favorites!
