Red Carpet Fashion: People's Choice Awards 2012

As usual... the People's choice awards were quite the snoozefest. I guess they're just not what they used to be. Either that or I'm just coming to terms with the fact that it's mostly "Young Hollywood" where it can be rather hit or miss with the fashion picks. Either way there were just a few ladies I wanted to highlight from the red carpet (which is better than last year when I liked ZERO!) So let's check them out...

I actually REALLY love this dress. But more importantly, can you believe she is 14?! Chloe Moretz has really taken advantage of her access to fabulous designer picks. She's constantly pushing the envelope and showing up to events wearing very fashion forward and on trend items. It's amazing what you can learn from fashion at such a young age when given access to amazing tools. I'm excited to see how she and Hailee Steinfeld's fashion tastes continue to evolve over the next few years. Anyways back to Chloe... how perfect is this frock for her? So age appropriate and fresh! Proenza Schouler is known for their unique prints, but I think you can never really go wrong with their designs. I adore the mesh design up top and the fact that she's paired it with clear Mary Janes. Love!!

Cobalt blue has been having a moment for a while, but I'm glad to see that it's back on the red carpet. Cobie Smulders, star of the CBS comedy "How I Met Your Mother" looked absolutely smashing in this bustier-like Reem Acra pencil dress. I love the color and the seem detail down the front. She went minimal yet bold in her accessories, choosing a glittering gold collar necklace from Etro and metallic sandals. Overall she's throwing a futuristic yet sexy vibe and it's totally working. Glad to see a fellow brunette step out of the box!

Kristen Bell had everyone seeing red when she stepped out in this lace-and-leather combo dress from Valentino, in the label's signature color. It's a trend we've been seeing everywhere lately, especially in black, but I quite enjoyed this bright version. Red leather is definitely not easy to pull off but Kristen looks lovely! She added a pair of gorgeous cap-toed Christian Louboutins and tousled locks for the finishing touch. Ladylike elegance!

I'm always surprised whenever I like something that Miley Cirus wears. Usually, I think she looks like a hot mess but she actually showed up looking, well, mature! Her David Koma cut-out dress still gives her that edgy style she enjoys but adds a very feminine and sophisticated touch. You can't see it from this angle but there are these fun shimmering details on the bottom near the sides. I think her metallic pink pumps are a fabulous shoe choice and soft curls top off the overall look.

So tell me loves, what do you think of my red carpet picks? Who did you love? Personally, I can't wait for this Sunday's Golden Globes! Check back next week for my favs and see if love the same thing!

  1. I am sorry to say I have to disagree with your picks this time around! I thought Miley definitely deserves to be on the list, but I didn't love anyone else's look EXCEPT Vanessa Hudgens. She wore Jenny Packham and although it's untraditional, I thought her dress matched her boho style.
