Outfit Post: Leopard Print 2 Ways

My double dose of leopard

As I have stated time and time again - I love leopard!! A few weeks ago I was invited to attend the Malibu Inn Grand Opening for LAX Magazine [more on that to come!] I was so excited and I knew that it would be the perfect time to break out my leopard booties that I got in May! While I was getting ready for work (the event was on a Thursday night) I was feeling inspired by my outfit pick for the party so I decided to throw on a little daytime animal print too. So here's how I wore leopard two different ways on the same day:

Top: Express; Skirt: Forever 21; Flats: Target - Odell Sparkle Flats; Watch: ASOS; Jewelry - Braclet: Express; Necklaces/Rings: My Own; Nail Polish - Ginger & Liz Prima Donna

Even though leopard print can be loud on it's own I wanted to pair my pencil skirt with this fun magenta shirt. So I knew I needed to keep everything else super simple and go easy on the accessories. I added a black belt and black flats (glittered of course!) to keep things semi-minimal. I also just layered some necklaces and added a gold cuff. I was a bit worried about the shirt working with the skirt, but the girls at my work LOVED the bright color with the leopard. And you know what? So do I!

Now for later on in the evening:

Billy & I at the Malibu Inn Grand Opening.
Dress: Express; Leopard Booties: Charlotte Russe [seen here]; Clutch: Vintage

Unfortunately this is the only photo from that night of my full outfit. I wanted to keep things simple and let the booties stand out. I paired them with the LBD and my clutch that I've had for forever. I also wanted to keep my hair fuss free so I just curled the ends under and added a flower pin (though you can't see it) We had a blast at the event - if you're ever up in the Malibu area it's definitely a spot you need to stop in at and have a drink. But my fav part of the opening was the song set played acoustically by childhood crush Gavin Rossdale (sigh).

What do you guys think of my outfit? Do you love leopard as much as I do? What leopard pieces do you own? Tell me! I'd love to feature you for the next "I Tried It - Reader Edition" xoxo!

  1. OBSESSED with those booties. I love how you wore BOTH looks. Magenta is such an awesome color with leopard.
