This has been quite a disappointing red carpet year! I couldn't find one outfit from People's Choice Awards that I even remotely liked, The SAG Awards were just.. "meh" and The Emmys seemed like 100 years ago. Thankfully, The Golden Globes were a small shining beacon in this sea of red carpet wear but it wasn't that bright... I know the Grammy's are supposed to be a time when you can step out of the ordinary - something I said wasn't happening enough last year. But this year I think the celebs took it to a while other level... and it was downright scary. Leopard Hair, Egg Vessels, Heart Shaped Bedazzled wings...??? I wasn't even going to post choices from last night's awards, however I thought there were three people who weren't totally going down the path of fashion darkness... I won't be doing a poll for this post or a big write up on each outfit. Let's just hope that Oscars bring it on home - I need a Superbowl worthy red carpet here people!!!
Mom-To-Be Selma Blair looked absolutely radiant in a double does of blue. This Navy/Blue-Gray Lanvin dress fit her like a dream and she was glowing. I love the easy hair and blunt bangs as well as simple makeup. A pregancy glow and a few Lanvin cuffs/clutch were the only accessory she needed. Beautiful.
Julianne has officially gone from "professional dancer" from Dancing With The Stars to bonafide star. Not only has she launched a pretty sucessful country music career - she's also a budding actress starring in the 2011 reboot - Footloose. On Sunday she wore a Malandrino gown that is pretty similar (if not the same one) that Lea Michele wore to the 2010 SAG Awards. The watercolor pattern is very spring-ready and she definitely has the body this cut. Now if only we could pry her away from Ryan Seacrest she might be close to perfect....
Mrs. Marc Anthony is taking her job as Ambassador for Venus Razors pretty seriously - she's been showing off the legs nonstop! And she definitely didn't hold back here. Her spiked Louboutins, Glittering Pucci mini and waist length hair is just about as D-I-V-A as you can get. My only dislike with the outfit? The Daniel Swarovski clutch is a bit much since her dress and shoes are so shiny. But - then again - it is Jennifer Lopez!
I know I said I only had three pics - but I threw this one in because Jennifer Hudson looks ah-mazing. Seriously I can't get over it every time I see one of those Weight Watchers commercials. I was never really her biggest fan but the more and more I see her in projects I realize that this girl actually has talent (both acting and most definitely singing) and isn't just another American Idol castoff. This Versace asymetrical dress fits her body perfectly - she looks stunning!
Tell me - were you as disappointed as me with the Grammy Fashions? I'm dying to know if I am the only one! Happy Tuesday!
